Hi everyone,

As the COVID-19 restrictions start to ease in Queensland, we have been eagerly anticipating information on when we can resume playing volleyball.  While recent announcements that some sport and fitness activities can resume now are encouraging, the limitations (including having no more than 20 people in a venue) present some challenges for us, which we need to work through before we can offer 'small group' training.

The ‘Return to Play’ guidelines from the State Government provides some further welcome news in this area, and indicates that we may be able to return to our full indoor volleyball training programs from 10 July 2020 (Stage 3 – the full guidelines are here: https://www.covid19.qld.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0026/127943/return-to-play-guide.pdf).  While this date remains subject to change, we are hopeful that it will remain in place and that we can get back on the court.

Similarly, we expect that volleyball competitions such as Premier Volleyball League and Phoenix League will be able to resume shortly after this, although it is likely that some format and schedule changes will be made.  We will advise separately as information becomes available, and as communicated previously, our expectation is that we will adjust our fees appropriately to take the changes to our programs into account.

In the meantime, please stay healthy and fit, and get ready for a return to play!

Ben Cooper
