Training venue/date/times are still to be confirmed, however intention is:

  • Most teams will train on Sundays during term 1
  • Tier 1 Men and Women will train twice a week, one session will be at Gap, the other is TBC
  • From Term 2 holidays onwards:
    • Div 3 Men to train at Richlands on Thursday nights
    • Other Tier 2 teams to train at The Gap once a week between Monday and Thursday.

Shadow Players

Shadow Players will be selected during trials and will train with the squad during pre-season before Round 1. In the event a spot becomes available in a team, the coaches will select a suitable Shadow Player to fill the spot. All Shadow Players must register and pay the Shadow Player fee to train with the squad and to be considered for teams if the opportunity arises. Should a Shadow Player be placed in a team, they will pay the difference between the Shadow Player fee and the full season fee.

Failure to complete these steps may result in your place being offered to someone else, OR the team may not be nominated into the competition.

Steps required to confirm your offered place are:

  1. Accept the offer in the Member Portal
  2. Register for the PVL Season
  3. Apply for, or renew your VQ Membership
  4. Make sure your VQ Membership is affiliated with Dragons. If it is not you will need to apply for a transfer to Dragons before the 'VQ Transfers submitted' deadline.

Other Information

Club Expectations of our Members

Please see Conditions of Membership for our formal conditions of membership that every member must agree to before becoming a member of the club. In essence this boils down to:

  1. Play nicely with everyone, especially our younger members.
  2. Meet your commitments (registrations, payments, showing up for games & duties) when possible, and seek help/let us know when you can’t.

Volleyball Queensland (VQ) Membership

As an affiliate club with Volleyball Queensland, each player must have a current Volleyball Queensland membership, with an affiliation to Dragons, to participate in our PVL program. PVL requires a minimum membership level of 'Full'. Following registration for the PVL event, we will direct you to the Volleyball Queensland membership page, so that you can get that sorted. Please see VQ Membership Requirements for more information.

FAQs

What if I sometimes have conflicting commitments between study/work and Dragons club training and/or games?

Dragons understand and accommodate for "life" (e.g. school/work/uni and family commitments). Have a chat with your Dragons PVL Coordinator to discuss your availability.

What if 'something comes up' during the PVL season?

Have a chat with the Dragons PVL Coordinator to discuss your availability, or alternatively talk with your team manager.

Am I able to move between teams during the PVL Season? Can I be considered for a higher team, or dropped to a lower team?

There is limited scope for player movements, noting that we have to carefully follow the PVL by-laws to avoid team forfeits.
