What is Flaming Chalice?

Dragons Volleyball Association runs the Flaming Chalice Volleyball Tournament each year on the Labour Day long weekend (first weekend in May).

This event has been running just about every year since 1991. Flaming Chalice is the largest association-run tournament in Queensland attracting teams from as far afield as Townsville, Dalby and Sydney, as well as Queensland Representative Teams and occasionally international teams.

This year we are expecting over 110 teams to participate across 14 courts, and 15 divisions!

Saturday 2nd to Monday 4th May 2026

The Gap SHS
Craigslea SHS
Boondall Entertainment Centre

Costs: (TBC)

Open divisions: $510/team | School-aged divisions:  $480/team

Early bird discount: $30/team discount if nominated and paid by 31st March 2026.

Registration:

Registration will open sometime in February. This will be publicised via our mailing list and the Chalice Facebook page.
