Dragons Academy - 2024 Trial Details
Trial Details:
All players (including returning Academy players, and/or current PVL players) must register to trial.
The main trial sessions for the 2024 intake took place during term 4 2023. If you miss the main trial, we also run trials in at the start of each school term in 2024. Acceptance to the program is pending available spots in the program.
Each player will attend 2-3 trial sessions, you will be advised your trial sessions by email.
Trial period for 2024 intake:
- Summer school holiday term: First 2 weeks of January 2024
- Term 1 2024: 29 January to 9 February 2024
- Term 2 2024: 15 April to 26 April 2024 (registration closes on 13 April)
Term 3 2024: 8 July to 26 July 2024 (registration closes 6 July)
We are currently not accepting trials registration as the program is now full. Please submit an Express of Interest to be on waiting list HERE and we will be in touch when trials is opened again.

Non-Dragons PVL players: $30. This must be paid in full before attending trials. 2024 Dragons PVL players: Trials fee is waived. |
If a player is assessed to be at a skill level where the group is full, we will advise the trial outcome and place the player onto a wait list. Should any players decline their offers, withdraw or get moved to other groups, we will draw from the wait list to fill the vacant spot.

Training Schedule:
Outside PVL season (usually terms 1 and 4), players will attend 2 sessions a week on weekdays. Training times are 6pm-7.30pm or 7.30pm - 9pm.
During PVL season (usually terms 2 and 3), players will attend 1 session a week on weekdays. Training times are 6pm-7.30pm or 7.30pm - 9pm.
Selected Advanced and Elite levels players will attend additional Strength & Conditioning session during school terms.
Training schedule will be provided on a term-by-term basis via email.
Academy Program Fee Information:
Academy 2024 fee is $770 (indicative) for the calendar year and is separate to all other fees such as PVL, State Champs, etc. Fees will be pro-rata for players joining later in the year.
Refund will be considered for extenuating circumstances. Busy, academic workload, work, etc., are not deemed exetenuating circumstances.
