The Bus Trip

Boris is still the only licensed bus driver but this year we'll take three days to get there.

Tuesday

We're leaving from Jon's unit.
And we're already late as the bus wasn't ready on time.
We amuse ouselves playing frisbee opposite the Bowls Club.
Then off to Mt Gravatt before heading to Coffs Harbour.
It's pouring rain and the surrogate hall is not too good.
Off to the pub and we order pizza.

Wednesday

We head for Newcastle. The Motel has given us a whole house to ourselves.
Some head for a night club. Later that night the nearby roadwork signs seem to have
found themselves in our front yard.
The local constabulary turn up at 2am to sort out the streetsign fiasco.

Thursday

Into Sydney where we stay at East Lane Cove Van Park.
Indoor soccer before we play North Ryde.
Jon conducts a midnight tour around Sydney and we stop at the Cross to sample the culture.

Friday
-
We get to Canberra and make camp in the Edmund Barton Motor Inn.

Saturday
-
Somehow each of the teams plays at a different venue.
We manage to fit a whole team of women into a Ford TX5.
There are Redback Spiders in the Hockey hall.

Sunday
-
The Tournament's over but there's no time to stop.
That afternoon we leave for Coonabarabran.

Monday
-
A long trip up the Newell from Coonabarabran to Brisbane where we have to play
Metro finals
at 6:30pm.
