The Bus Trip

Boris is the only licensed bus driver so he's going to be driving the whole way. Unfortunately we can't afford too much time so we leave at 7pm on Thursday night and drive straight through to Canberra. Should only take about 16 hours. 16 HOURS!
Boris does an excellent job though.

Three cars are going along as well:

  • Jon rented a Commodore and went to the Western Plains Zoo, (to see his relatives maybe).
  • Eugene took his old diesel ute.
  • Dave Rosolen drove his Corolla, (at Warp 8).

D-D-Dynamite! We stopped at a truck stop in the middle of the night for a break. Karl and Kevin decides to warm themselves by building a fire in the carpark beside a semi. Moments later a concerned truckie came out to tell them the truck they were beside was hauling dynamite. Needless to say the fire went out in a hurry.

Canberra

Finally, we arrive at the Canberra Motor Village at about 3pm on Friday and crash for a few hours.

Saturday night. The Motor Village has a Games Room with an L shaped pool table. Karl noticed it was unlocked so we got to play pool for free all night. Paul conducts a midnight Tour of Canberra.

Sunday Dave Kelly sprains his ankle. The Women win their finals and take Gold in Division 3. We then jump on the bus and go to Belconnen for some food before driving to Dubbo.

The Trip Back

Dubbo to Brisbane in one day along the Newell Highway, and we've got Metro Finals in Brisbane tonight.
