Tour 2002

Day 1 - Narrabri
Narrabri at last, the trip was a breeze
The landscape is roadkill and a desert of trees
The road was uneventful, boring as well
And the worming is fun at the cash only hotel

Day 2 - Dubbo
The games played in Dubbo, the first set was tight
With the final score 3-0, we was have got it all right
We played with the locals for the rest of the night
The hall was hot and dry, the drinks a delight

Day 3 - Illawarra
On the trip to Illawarra we detoured via Sydney
Dam, no time for go karts, have to fix a PC
The wrong John on the highway wasn’t what we need
When we found the right one we got a free feed

They gave us free drinks and the first game was fun
It was four against six but we won it 2-1
With Peter and Steel we played the top team quite strong
The set score was one all when an injury made he rest go all wrong

Wow, the hospitality in Illawarra, they put us up for the night
Time for some laughs, let the worms fight

Day 4 - Wagga
To catch up with old members in Wagga , simply bliss
We talked for hours, our chance to remiss
The game verse the locals, we’ll blame it on the light
It must have been something as nothing went right
After a dip in the pool it’s off to Kaz and Vidal for a feed
But watch out for that mailbox, it’ll make you bleed

Day 5-7 - Canberra
Here now in Canberra, VTA women, what a surprize
Our spiking was good but their blocking denies
With Maike and TJ with us, we can really get hopping
We’d better hurry up, there’s more time for shopping
Cracker Jack’s the movie, a laugh a lot delight
We are joined by Bruce and Budgie later on that night

First day is over and we haven’t been beaten
Its of for some Thai, who knows what we’re eating
Now off to the motel and some drinks we are a bringing
After a few laps of Canberra and lots of dancing and singing

Tom gets a six pack, Bruce scrapes the net
Maike serves like a demon, we won every set
We’ve won all our games, only the final to go
Of to the Noodle bar, time to take thing slow

The final wasn’t pretty, not much of a sight
We didn’t play bad, just nothing went right
Second place is okay, at least we had a chance
We’ll all feel much better after one final happy dance

Day 8 – Wagga Wagga
Well the Good Neighbor was fun and we gave it our best
Now it’s of to Wagga for some pizza and rest

Day 9 - Bathhurst
Off to Blayney, more volleyball, I can’t wait
It’s a big rush to get there, we were almost quite late
Warming up with the locals, their playing style revealed
We beat them 4-1, I’m so glad that I’m healed
The short hop to Bathurst was really quite swell
Where we lazed around and were almost late for the pizzas as well

Day 10 – Glen Innes
Eight hours on the road, we knew it would hurt
It was made even worse by 30 clicks of dirt
The final night of the Tour, the end it draws near
Another excellent trip to cap of the year

Day 11 - Brisbane
While tourists this year were much in decline
The actions still intense and the excitement divine
To those on the road, we had a great time
I’m so happy to have shared this journey of mine

Twelve years of touring, a pleasant memory
Every time wonderful and special to me
As the future grows near, its quite clear to see
That I’m looking forward to, Tour 2003
