7:30am at Kennys' place and its handing out the jersies time
I guess I must have been lucky to get the right number on mine.
We wait an extra hour, Clarkies running late and that's no shock
It departure time for all be me, who has to go home to find a lock
Coffs
The first stop is Coffs Harbour, and in that there is nothing new
The guys have a close match and lose it three sets to two
The girls are simple awesome, truely a site to see
I guess that was bound to happen when they played with Mal and me
The music that we listen to seems to ever change no doubt
But I just can't understand just "who let the dogs out"
Cessnock
While in Cessnock there's no volleyball, which causes stress we know
When nighttime antics are in the past, it's time to ralph and go
Now some are sorry at the thought to leave due to one too many glugs
We'd best leave as fast as we can to avoid the rising floods
Sydney
We stop off in Manley to play against the yanks in a game of beach volleyball
Then at least for several days we can use Andy to light up the hall
The accommodation in Sydney is at the soccer ground
And the venue at Hills was a High School almost easily found
The girls were up first and it seemed that hills had no answer to our attack
And when it looked like we were going to win the subbed their burrowed players back
The guys only just went down, we almost stopped them in their tracks
At least it was really good, to catch up with the Axe.
Then it time to head for home, first a meal to end the day
The way back was awkward, but we were only going one way.
Coorimal
Coorimal at last, the place as always is a true ambush delight
Its Walker from the trailer and the boys down from the right
But the final ambush comes from the verandah as the targets make their dashing flight
Then Kerensa and Betsy take on the boys in a two hour epic water fight.
Then its out to Albion to play the local crew
But the locals were scared off so a training session would have to do
Down on the beach we set up the nets and watch out for the tide
But I'm left to wonder, why doesn't Timmy play that well when inside
That night we play the uni, we hope their not in our pool
The girls play the div three guys and think that's really cruel
Canberra
Destination Canberra, its time to play some volleyball
The first few games weren't successful, not a good start at all
Its off to Belconnen shops to see what we can find
We buy lots of stuff, view the talent and leave someone behind
In the Saturday games we are relentless and of the many things I learn
Be careful when diving over seats, it leads to carpet burn
They guys are playing well but not enough and that is no disgrace
The girls are our savour and take out second place
But when this is all history do not talk bout it to Tim
Or you'll be kept up for hours hearing we only needed two points to win
Well now the games are over and in the pool we catch that vortex so easily
It's another meal at Sizzlers and the car park talk with Boris is were we want to be
I will look back at our time in Canberra, and at all the moves that we contrived
And be ever so glad to remember, I played next to Ben and I survived.
Musslebrook
Onto Musslebrook via the mountains, the sites are something to admire
But the bus travels too fast and ends up blowing a tyre
The age verse claws water fight in the pool reaches a stalemate
There are no food places open except a Chinese banquet for eight
Port Macquarie
We arrive in Port Macquarrie with some time to spare
So we take in a local meal and taste some ocean air
The waters bombs are flying while I write this poem
The boys have never used so many rubber things away from home
We rent a hall to play a match where the losers have to wash and cook too
Then we have a late night swim and enjoy our last BBQ
Brisbane
In the last leg of our journey the one that heads for home
I take a chance to reflect and to think things on my own
This tour was the hardest one for me to decide to come to yet
Work was the draw card, but this tour has been the best one yet
And to all the people who traveled this tour with me
I'm glad I came, I truly am, there is no better place to be
And to all who didn't come, you missed the excitement and the fun
But I hope I get to see you on tour in the tour of 2001.
