Flaming Chalice

Dragons Volleyball Association conducts the Flaming Chalice Tournament each year on the Labour Day long weekend, (1st Monday in May).

Flaming Chalice is the largest association run tournament in Queensland attracting teams from as far afield as Rockhampton, Dalby and Coffs Harbour, as well as Queensland Representative Teams.

In 1999, 37 teams participated in 8 divisions: Mens 1st, Womens 1st, Mens 2nd, Womens 2nd, Mens U18, Womens U18, Mens U16 and Womens U16. The tournament was played for the first time at The Brisbane Entertainment Centre's Sports Arena and at Clayfield College.

In 1995, 27 teams participated in 4 divisions. Nominations still at the bargain price of $120 per team.

In 1994, 24 teams participated in 4 divisions: Mens 1st, Mens 2nd, Womens 1st and Womens 2nd. Nominations cost $120 per team.
