Grafton Jacaranda
Festival
Now's the time to think about the make up of your mixed teams for Grafton.
The date is Nov 3 & 4. Quick, go and mark it in your diary.
For those of you who haven't been, find yourself a team OR let us know,
you don't want to miss out on this one. And of course Grafton Volleyball
expect a Dragon Invasion.
Email your teams into the office as soon as they are confirmed. |
Metro
Division 2
The second season of Metro has finished with a good result for our
teams. Dragons had 4 men and 2 women teams entered, finishing with
2 Gold & 1 Silver. A note of gratiude to the coaches Ken, Hubert
and Luke and the endless work of Ben Cooper
The next season (probably called Spring) is starting next week,
Sept 10th (that's a Monday). If you haven't already told Trevor you're
playing give the office a call or email right now. |

PVL (Premier Volleyball
League) Division 1

Many thanks to the great effort of the coaches this year, Michael Conlon,
Owen Bavin, and Ken Thomson, dealing with the extra numbers.
We don't know the dates of next years season yet, but look out
for the tryouts, usually in Febuary. |
Metro Jerseys
This year has been a %#@ as the Queen would say, for jerseys, just
ask our new equipment officer, Vicki. We need Metro jerseys NOW and
would like to call on players who would wish to sell theirs to the new
players. Contact the office this week with size, number and your asking
price, so we can get our Metro players clothed. |
V-League
So far this year we have been to Morayfield (that's pronounced Morafield)
Gold Coast &
Gympie
Still to come are
Kingaroy Sept 22-23
Toowoomba Oct 6-7 &
Finals (at Noosa) Nov 3-4
Ben Cooper's the man to see. Come on, track him down, he just
loves talking to everyone. |
Training
The training nights for the rest of the year are as follows
|
Wednesday
|
7 - 10pm
|
at MacGregor State High
|
|
Wadley St MacGregor
|
|
Thursday
|
6:30 - 9:30pm
|
at Brisbane Boys College
|
|
Kensington Tce Toowong
|
However, at the moment MacGregor is not available and training will start
there again on Sept 19th (bummer for the new metro players).
And BBC will most likely NOT be available from Sept 20th to early Oct.
(They reckon we can go back Oct 11th, but we'll let you know.) |
Tour - Good
Neighbour
Deposits are now required for the Tour - dates are Sunday Nov 18 to
Tuesday Nov 27 (hey that's some famous persons birthday). Kenny baby
is in charge this year, he needs your details now and those early enough
can get their magic number on their shirt. |

Junior Development
This is going well with the second clinic now half way through.
One problem however is the forced breaks due to the hall not being available.
(sounds familiar). As a result the 10 week clinic will take up part
of the 4th term, which means there won't be another one till next year.
The kids, most of them 11, 12 & 13 year olds, are really enjoying
their time at BBC.
We do get a lot of enquiries from the MacGregor and Runcorn area, so
it would be good to get the MacGregor one going again next year. |
Fundraising
So how many frogs have you eaten? Erin has been trying hard to
get funds with M&Ms and Chocee Frogs but we need you to sell them (and
eat them). Go for it |
Chalice
The annual Flaming Chalice was held on May 5, 6 & 7 and was a hugh
success. This year we had 42 teams and no one pulled out at the last
minute.
Next years will again be on the labour day long weekend. |
Christmas Party
We've decided a date - Saturday December 8th. However venue and
in fact a wonderful organiser have not been worked out yet. Volunteers
apply to Dave Kelly. |
