President's Report (Jan 99)

Welcome back to Dragons in 1999. Hope you all had an enjoyable break and are looking forward to what this year has to offer.  Entering into our 12^th year of Dragons volleyball we are looking forward to another great year and hope to yet again extend what we can offer our members.
Included in this newsletter are some of the events in this year's calender. I hope you can take the opportunity to plan ahead for some of these events that you would like to attend. We are hoping this year to be able to plan our attendance at events much earlier than previously.  Some key events to look forward to would have to include the end of year tour (which I'm sure you'll hear enough about throughout this newsletter) and our very own "Flaming Chalice" (probably the largest tournament you'll attend this year).
As our committee structure starts to line up for the year things look quite good.  It is possible that many new areas

could be taken advantage of this year (in particular that of promotions and sponsorship).  If you know of people who might like to advertise in our newsletters, at Flaming Chalice or generally, please mention them to myself or whoever ends up being our promotions officer.  This year we will not only maintain our sponsorship from the Internet Service Provider "Touchbase Communications" but we hope to find other major sponsors to help us along.
Our Premier League program will kick off again this year in early March.  Again there will be a couple of weeks of open invitation to come try out for the squad. Please come along and try out, or at least see what level
