Training

Although training is optional, many of our members like to attend. We have different levels. Training costs are covered by annual membership fees.

PVL training (Division 1) is the most serious. It generally starts a few weeks before the PVL season. All members are initially invited to 'try out' for the PVL team by attending PVL training. After a few sessions the coaches decide on teams, after which only PVL team members may attend. Generally one court is used for men, the other for women.

Metro training (Division 2) is mixed, open to everybody and is less intense than PVL training. A training session normally involves a combination of drills and game practice, and a little fun, coordinated by an experienced volleyballer. Although nominally for Metro teams, it is also open to other Dragons members and prospective members. Members of all ages and experience are welcome, however some younger members prefer to train in the Junior sessions.

Junior/MINI volleyball sessions are to allow younger folk to experience the joys of volleyball with the guidance of experienced players.
