Smokin' Summer Series 2011 Finals

| On finals night we rocked up to BBC to find the hall full of chairs and carpet. After some debate we decided at least the top four playoffs should continue rain, hail or chairs and carpet, so we all got stuck into move them out of the way. |

The 3rd vs 4th playoff was Mac Pack versus Punjabiz. Punjabiz started in the comp not being very familiar with the rules, but they eventually figured them out to become a force in the competition. Mac Pack was always fairly strong, made more so at times by Damo's ability to pull in strong reserve players (all within the rules, I'm sure he would claim :)). In this game however Damo was out of reserves and Punjabiz overcame Mac Pack 3-nil. In 1st vs 2nd it was Elder Dragons vs Dragon Masters, both slated from the beginning as teams to beat. At the core of Elder Dragons were Bryce, Dave, KJ, Erin, Rach, and a few ringins, while Dragon Masters had the firepower of Thy, Jarrod, Don, Mya, Michael and Dave Li. Despite the distraction of drying the floor between just about every point, it was a good match, but Elder Dragons wore down Dragon Masters to win 3-nil. Thanks to all our teams for playing, it was good fun for all. |
